WHY DISTRICT 11 MATTERS TO ME
I’ve gone to D11 schools my entire life- Steele Elementary, North Middle, and am now a Senior at Palmer High. I can’t count the number of caring, intelligent, and compassionate teachers and other staff who have helped shape me into the person I am today.
My little brother is about to start middle school at North, and I want him to receive the same stellar opportunities as I did. He deserves the opportunity for an amazing education I had. I also know that our great teachers are stretched thin and our schools need resources. Our future leaders deserve access to the best educators and a great education.
Through education we can ensure the future of our country and world is a more loving and positive one. For me, for my little brother, for your and OUR future: fund our schools.

WHY SCHOOL DISTRICT 11 MATTERs TO ME
My son enjoys art and one thing I truly appreciate about D-11 is that his elementary school has a dedicated art teacher. Over the past year he has been able to create original pottery, draw an architectural-style, 3D city plan, and his favorite project was a colored-pencil drawing of an otter. His teacher, Mr. Burkle, inspired him with both with his teaching and his sense of humor. Another key to Chipeta’s success is the wonderful Principal, Ms. Sarah Scott. When I spoke to her about a concern I had regarding my son, she gave me concrete examples of the progress he’s making in that area. She truly knows each student. Moreover, each morning she is at drop-off, greeting the students as they arrive for the day. I think that seeing your Principal as you arrive for the day really communicates that the school cares about you, from the top down. Chipeta Elementary is truly an exceptional school.
It’s important that great educators like Mr.Burkle and leaders like Principal Scott have the resources to continue inspiring our kids to dream and build their future. It’s also important we’re able to keep these amazing teachers in district 11 and to be able to recruit more inspiring teachers who are shaping the minds that will lead us into the future.
